Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS) is a chronic, inflammatory skin disease that can be painful and disabling. It may affect as many as 1 in 100 people worldwide – but awareness remains limited, leading to delayed diagnosis, poor quality of life and unnecessary suffering. Novartis partnered with HS advocate, journalist, and filmmaker Jasmine IVANNA Espy to produce “The Beacons: Illuminating HS Stories,” highlighting the experiences of six people living with HS and premiered it during the 2023 Tribeca Festival in New York.
