It also comes with stigma attached, which complicates early detection and can have negative consequences for treatment. Despite these challenges, Jeff Legos and Andrea Myers from Global Drug Development are confident that new scientific insights are set to give rise to innovative treatments. Likewise, increasing engagement with patients can help research gain a better understanding of the disease.
