Helping communities become healthier

Faith Metlock, a PhD student at Johns Hopkins School of Nursing, is leading a volunteer group supporting health screenings as part of the Engage with Heart program in Baltimore. A third-generation nurse, Metlock’s task is to find people who need help to take proactive measures on their health. But it is not always easy for the Black community – for whom the program was created – to accept this support, and Metlock explains why in this episode.
