A library of medicinal plants
The idea for a medicinal garden on the Novartis Campus in Basel originated from British designer Alan Fletcher. As a member of the Campus Workshop, he was able in 2005 to win over his colleagues for this project, which documents the history of both medicine and the company in the form of an architectural garden designed especially to highlight medicinal plants. Thorbjoern Andersson is responsible for the conception and realization, and in the Physic Garden now open to associates and visitors has created a unique library of medicinal plants.
